El actor recibió el Oscar por su rol de Wladyslaw Szpilman, un brillante pianista polaco de origen judío que vive con su familia en Varsovia en 1939. Cuando los alemanes invaden el país logra evitar la deportación, pero tendrá que vivir escondido y aislado por mucho tiempo.
La cinta está basada en las memorias del músico. Además de la estatuilla para Brody, también ganaron el director Roman Polanski y el guionista Ronald Harwood.

Cuando una actriz de vodevil queda sin trabajo (Naomi Watts), conoce por accidente a un director de cine (Jack Black) que está desesperado por encontrar una intérprete para su nueva película, emprendiendo un viaje en barco hacia tierras desconocidas, acompañados además de un escritor (Adrien Brody).
Adaptación de la clásica película de 1933 a cargo de Peter Jackson, el director de la trilogía de El Señor de los Anillos.

Bullet Head (Netflix)
Luego de ejecutar un osado robo, tres fugitivos se encierran en un almacén para ocultarse de la policía, pero pronto se encuentran con una amenaza mucho mayor. Huir de la policía fue lo más fácil. Lo que les espera podría ser el principio del fin.
La cinta es protagonizada además de Brody, por John Malkovich y Antonio Banderas.

The Experiment (Netflix y Amazon)
Un grupo de hombres llega a una cárcel ficticia a participar de un experimento sociológico en el que cada uno de ellos deberá enfrentar roles de prisionero o de guardián. Pero no resulta como se esperaba.
Remake de la película alemana del mismo nombre estrenada en 2001, nueve años antes de esta nueva versión norteamericana, que cuenta además con la presencia de Forest Whitaker.

Dragon Blade (Amazon)
Un comandante de del Escuadrón de Protección de las regiones occidentales (Jackie Chan) une sus fuerzas con un general romano (John Cusack) en el año 48 a.C. para combatir a un enemigo mayor.
Película de acción y artes marciales china, que fue un éxito de taquilla en dicho país.

Adrien Brody & Vera Farmiga To Top Mystery Thriller ‘The Salamander Lives Twice’
Adrien Brody and Vera Farmiga will headline director Ant Timpson’s mystery thriller The Salamander Lives Twice.
Written by Toby Harvard, with a story by Timpson and Harvard, the pic follows an injured man (Brody) with an impenetrable briefcase and no memory who is found on the shoreline of a remote island by Iris and her daughter Goggy (Farmiga), the last remaining members of a once prosperous family dynasty.
Producers are Emma Slade for Firefly Films, Katie Holly for Blinder Films and with executive producers Timpson and XYZ Films.
XYZ Films is handling world sales and co-repping domestic with CAA Media Finance at AFM.
Brody is repped by CAA; Farmiga is repped by CAA and Authentic Talent and Literary Management. Timpson is repped by CAA.

Today, Searchlight Pictures released the first official artistic poster for Wes Anderson’s highly anticipated new film The French Dispatch, and announced that the first trailer for the movie will be released online tomorrow.

The movie produced with Indian Paintbrush brings to life a collection of stories from the final issue of an American magazine published in a fictional 20th Century French city. Benicio del Toro, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Lea Seydoux, Frances McDormand, Timothee Chalamet, Lyna Khoudri, Jeffrey Wright, Mathieu Amalric, Stephen Park, Bill Murray and Owen Wilson star.
Anderson wrote the screenplay off a story he co-wrote with Roman Coppola, Jason Schwartzman, and Hugo Guinness.
When is The French Dispatch out in cinemas?
Wes Anderson’s next comedy The French Dispatch will open on July 24.
It’s also thought that The French Dispatch could receive its premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, which takes place between May 12-23.

What is the plot of The French Dispatch?
A short synopsis for The French Dispatch promises that the movie will “bring to life a collection of stories from the final issue of an American magazine published in a fictional 20th century French city”.
The film will reportedly be set in both 1950s Paris and the fictional commune of Ennui-sur-Blasé.
Where was The French Dispatch filmed?
Decamping to south-west France between November 2018 and March 2019, Anderson filmed his latest movie in the little town of Angoulême.
According to Variety, The French Dispatch was the largest-scale Hollywood production to hit the area since Steven Spielberg shot scenes for Raiders of the Lost Ark in nearby La Rochelle in the early 1980s.
Anderson’s new movie also reportedly had a budget of $25 million (£18.9 million) to play with.

Speaking to NME last year, The End of the F***ing World star Alex Lawther said that while the experience of filming a “teeny-tiny” part of the film was “amazing”, he feared that his part “might be on the cutting room floor”.
“They took over this little town in Angoulême in the south of France and it was one of the biggest productions I’ve ever been involved in,” Lawther recalled about working on The French Dispatch.
“Wes likes to keep the spirit of a short film. All of the actors would eat with him every evening and discuss how the day went. I was only there for two days, but I wish I could have been there bit longer.”

Adrien Brody, Bobby Cannavale and Julianne Nicholson will star alongside Ana de Armas as Monroe the new production in Los Angeles, Netflix’s Marilyn Monroe movie “Blonde”.
Blonde is based on the novel of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates that boldly reimagined the private story of the world’s most famous sex symbol. The film is a fictional portrait of the model, actress and singer during the ’50s and ’60s told through the modern lens of celebrity culture.
Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner are producing for Plan B, along with Tracey Landon and Scott Robertson.
The Hollywood Reporter (THR) has details on the full cast which includes two of Monroe’s husbands: Adrien Brody as Arthur Miller (The Playwright) and Bobby Cannavale as Joe DiMaggio. As well as Julianne Nicholson, Caspar Phillipson, Toby Huss, Sara Paxton, David Warshofsky, Lily Fisher, Evan Williams, and Xavier Samuel. Cinematographer Chayse Irvin (BlacKkKlansman) has also come on board to shoot the film.
